Escape of Water - Contract Works Independent School Extension

A claim for substantial water damage was submitted by the Policyholder following a period of some confusion over contractual responsibilities.

Joint named sub-contractors had fitted a sprinkler system which had subsequently leaked causing large areas of damage to the school.

Appointed 10 months after the incident had occurred, disputes amongst the chain of contractors lead to the withholding of payments and the threat of legal action overarching the incident.

Our Loss Adjuster met with relevant parties and quickly took control of the situation, brought the parties together and clearly the highlighted responsibilities for each of the parties including consideration for possible subrogated action.

Having identified the absence of key evidence to support recovery coupled with the passing of time, the claim and complex losses involved was swiftly managed and resulted in all legal action being withdrawn. Compliments were received from representatives of all contracting parties involved and of the Policyholder for the detailed resolution of the claim.
